Shaun of the Dead

One of our developers managed to convince his wife, who hates zombie movies, to watch "Shaun of the Dead" and she loved it just as much as we all did.
Looking at the user ratings on IMDB, Shaun of the Dead probably scores the highest of all modern zombie comedies and we couldn't agree more. Not only does it stay true to the depiction of slow walking zombies actually representing a threat in a style Romero would have approved of, it also manages to humor this in plausible way in an everyday kind of style which is hard to explain but works surprisingly well.
The plot revolves around two grown up males, Shaun and Ed, who spend most of their time playing console video games and hanging out at the local pub, who must suddenly survive the zombie apocalypse making improvised weapons of the items they find laying around the house.
As the apocalypse unfolds Shaun must also deal with his struggling relationship and a stepfather he is not too happy about.
The verdict: 4.5 out of 5
